Business Activities
We operate as a value-added supplier to PCB (Printed Circuit Board) fabricators. Our business is divided into two main areas:
- Provision of PCB manufacturing services, mainly precision drilling services to PCB fabricators; and
- Distribution of specialty chemicals and other PCB-related products and equipment to PCB fabricators.
Our associated company, HP Tec Singapore, is principally engaged in the supply of precision drills and provision of regrinding services. These areas of business were previously carried out by the Company until 1996.
Manufacturing Services
Sophisticated PCB panels today may require more than 100,000 holes as small as 0.1 mm in diameter to make all the intricate electrical connections. Precision drilling of printed circuit boards can be complex and a higher level of accuracy and precision is required for smaller holes where the fine drill bits break more easily. High capital and skill requirements make drilling a process ideal for outsourcing to a dedicated expert.
PCB Routing Service
The routing process is a milling process in which a route bit is used to cut the profile of the desired board contour. The Group commenced the provision of PCB routing service to its China-based customers in April 2003 and had invested in 20 routing machines since.
Distribution Business
Multi-Chem provides PCB manufacturers with a wide range of chemicals for surface treatment, electroless copper plating, tin/tin lead stripping and micro-etching. We also supply PCB-related materials and equipment such as plating systems, pulse rectifiers for copper plating, copper anodes and tin anodes for electroplating, entry and back-up materials for drilling, non-woven brushes to ensure clean copper surface with suitable roughness, dry film and liquid photoresist, CCL & prepreg, tacky rollers, tack cloth/wipes and cleaning machine to remove foreign particles on PCBs.
